Starting from 2008 the Coalition I Can Live took over logistic administration of international public health seminars of the Open Society Institute (OSI) from the Open Society Fund-Lithuania.
Having won the second competition of the Open Society Institute for funding of projects of tuberculosis (TB) and HIV/AIDS policy shaping and implementation monitoring all over the world, I Can Live Coalition continues activities related to TB and HIV co-infection to ensure more efficient implementation of the recommendations of the World Health Organisation (WHO) related to tackling of TB and HIV/AIDS related problems.
Having won the competition of the Open Society Institute for funding of projects of tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS policy shaping and implementation monitoring all over the world, the coalition of non-governmental organisations and experts I Can Live carried out research to find out how Vilnius County settled dual problems related to tuberculosis and HIV and how the recommendations of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in this area are implemented. Similar studies were conducted by twelve other organisations from all over the world having won this project. The project involves 13 countries and Lithuania is the only EU Member State implementing this project.
The coalition of non-governmental organisations and experts I Can Live raises the issue of purposefulness of the Register of Dependency Patients. Information is insufficient and incomplete, patients try to avoid treatment and health care institutions, courts and other institutions perform much unnecessary work and incur losses.
